StopWinUpdates 3.0

StopWinUpdates is an application to enable or disable Windows and Store Automatic Updates. StopWinUpdates is portable but works and looks like an installer which we found confusing. Double click on the executable and choose your options. By default, if you want to disable Windows Update, this option is selected by default. Again, you'll see a prompt that shows the program is being installed, but it's actually just applying your changes.

Overall, StopWinUpdates is another great app to disable or enable Windows and Store Automatic Updates if you don't mind the installer style way StopWinUpdates works dynamic.

Notes when using:

• Windows Update Service is set to manual by default
• Store, Edge and Defender are active
• Windows update page in settings will show a blank page in Windows 10 1607 and later, that's normal
• Turning off updates will automatically hide the Windows Update page in settings so it will now open Windows Defender (Security) instead in Win10 1703 or later
• If you used any tool to disable updates, you must use the same tool to enable it, to reset permissions!
• Restart is required after enabling or disabling updates
• Option to turn on or off Automatically update store apps (Win10)
• Option to set Windows Defender (Security) to Update every 6 hours (Win8.1/Win10)
• Option to disable or enable automatic device driver installation
• Disable or enable Automatic download of language-related components (Win10)
• Option to disable or enable automatic offline map download
