P7S Signer is a standards-based electronic signature solution based on the PKCS#7/CAdES format. Signing documents electronically with P7S Signer immediately reduces costs, increases security and helps organizations comply with regulations. Electronic signatures are based on standard PKI technology, ensuring signer authenticity, data integrity and non-repudiation of electronic documents.

Using P7S Signer, you can quickly sign multiple files (any file type) in CAdES format by selecting input and output folders. This is ideal for batch signing large numbers of corporate files. Files digitally signed with P7S Signer have the p7s or p7m extension and are saved in the CAdES format.

Interoperability – Files digitally signed with P7S Signer have the p7s or p7m extension and are of type application (mime-type)/pkcs7-signed-data. Details of the standard regarding the creation of such structures are published in RFC 3369, a standard published by RSA Security Data Inc.

Other features of P7S Signer

  • PKI interoperability – P7S Signer is completely PKI neutral and will work with PKI components from any vendor (including CAs, certificates, CRLs, smart cards, etc.). P7S Signer Signatures are compatible with PKCS#7 – Cryptographic Message Syntax Standard and CAdES.
  • Timestamps – Like signatures, timestamps are easier to verify when they are linked to a trusted certificate of the timestamp authority. Including a timestamp helps prove that the document has not been altered after you signed it, and it reduces the possibility of an invalid signature.
  • Long-term authentication purposes – Using our software, you can sign and time-stamp documents for long-term authentication purposes. P7S Signer supports digital signatures including embedded RFC 3161 compliant secure timestamps. Such signatures can be verified even after the signer's certificate expires or is revoked.
  • SHA256/512 and RSA 2048 – Our software can sign documents using SHA256/512 and RSA 2048 or higher key lengths.
  • Standards Compliant – P7S Signer Signatures are compatible with PKCS#7 – Cryptographic Message Syntax Standard and CAdES.
