MSC Patran is the leading pre-processing and post-processing software widely used in Finite Element Analysis (FEA). It provides a comprehensive environment for creating, editing and analyzing finite element models with powerful integration with many solvers such as MSC Nastran, Marc, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, ANSYS and Pam-Crash.

Key Features:

• Geometry Processing: Patran provides advanced geometry creation and editing tools, including direct import of CAD geometry from popular CAD systems and support for formats such as STEP, IGES and Parasolid. It has complex feature recognition to modify or delete holes, fillets and chamfers, with the ability to automatically reapply mesh and loads after geometry changes.
• Meshing: Powerful automatic surface generation and solid mesh generation with advanced mesh-on-mesh capabilities, allowing for high-quality finite element meshes for complex models.
• Solver support: Patran supports multiple FEA solvers, primarily MSC Nastran and MD Nastran, allowing for advanced analysis such as design and topology optimization.
