The Ultrasonic TDR is a filter designed to control the buildup of ultrasonic content in oversampled recording, processing or playback chains. The Ultrasonic TDR is a filter designed to control the buildup of ultrasonic content in oversampled recording, processing or playback chains. The idea is to prevent ultrasound from running into non-linear systems. The total distortion produced by a non-linear system increases with the input signal bandwidth. This is true for both audible and inaudible content, and applies throughout the production process: While a narrowband mono signal like a guitar or vocal can handle artistically large amounts of distortion, a wideband mix can break up with even the smallest amount of saturation.

The Ultrasonic TDR controls the same effect, on a larger scale. It allows for lossless reduction of cross-modulation distortion caused by ultrasonic content running into non-linear devices.

Notable Features

  • Linear phase, continuous slope filtering
  • Ultrasonic gate
  • Supports sample rates up to 20Mhz
