apulSoft apUnmask is an audio plugin to amplify components of sound psychologically obscured by other components. To achieve this, apUnmask uses parts of the detector algorithm of the opus high quality audio compression codec. Signal components that will be removed by compression will be extracted. They are often inaudible because they are obscured by larger time and frequency components. apUnmask allows to amplify and create masked content and add that content to music.

To configure the frequencies of the extracted signal, it is passed through a linear phase graphic equalizer. It has a bezier curve of smooth frequency response. The result is a form of surreal sound. This process allows listeners to hear many aspects of music at the same time. apUnmask can be used as an overall effect or as a smart stimulator for single devices.

• Insert it on the main track or an individual track for enhancement.
• Adjust the main gain until proper delta signal quantity is visible.
• Toggle the delta listening button to hear the "ghostly" sound that the opus codec will remove. This is what usually exists in the dark of your music.
• Experiment with the resolution knob to find the most interesting components.
• Edit EQ curves to extract and enhance good content.
• Turn off delta listening and enjoy the result.
