HCL AppScan Standard 10.5.0
HCL AppScan Standard is an infiltration audit component of the HCL AppScan application security inspection suite, which is used to test web applications and services. It has advanced methods and techniques to identify security vulneruses to help protect applications from threats from cyber attacks.
The HCLAppScan Standard is an active analysis tool, assessing the security of the application in the runtime by attacking the application using techniques similar to the method used by hackers. The results of the tests include a rich set of data from the application store to the detailed attack traffic that can be copied to confirm and repair. This data can be checked and processed in the user interface or published in a variety of formats to share in other tools.
The features of HCL AppScan Standard
- In addition to advanced testing vehicles, AppScan includes additional capabilities to help you run your test program as efficiently as possible. Some of these are:
- The compliance and general compliance report, with more than 40 different models available immediately
- The ability to customize and ability to extend through the AppScan eXtension Framework or by integrating direct access to existing systems using
- the built-in optimization mechanism AppScan SDK to help focus on testing the most likely problems in the most likely parts of the application
- The AppScan standard helps you reduce the risk of web application attacks and breaches of data both before the deployment of the site and to evaluate the ongoing risk in the production process.
Supported technologies
- Some of the technologies that are used by your site can affect AppScan's ability to scan, while other technologies do not affect the scanning process.
- AppScan is a "Black Box" (DAST) tool and scan your website with the browser-like mechanisms. Thus, generally, the server side technologies with the browser are also transparent to AppScan and do not affect the scanning process.
- Client side technologies such as JavaScript and HTTP protocol are affecting AppScan. To successfully scan, AppScan uses a practical browser, embedded in the product, to handle web sites like a commercial browser. This ensures support of all conventional technologies. Sometimes, the additional configuration may be required to help AppScan understand the context of an element, for appropriate processing beyond simple browsing, which is usually special for the audit phase of the sweep process.
- WebSocket login and re-login are supported.
