Simple Windows Hardening 2.1.1.1

Simple Windows Hardening (SWH) is a Portable app that works on Windows 10 and Windows 11. This is a simple security user interface (user interface) that is available in Windows 10, but is not enabled by default. This security is based on the Software Restriction Policy (SRP) and some useful policies of Windows. It is not intended to act as an independent security solution but to support the anti-virus by reducing the surface of the attack in the home environment. After the initial configuration is done through SWH, it can be closed and all protection comes from the built-in features of Windows.

The security settings are adapted to prevent malware from having a filter and maintain the ability to use. Therefore, EXE and MSI files are not restricted to SWH, except when implemented from repositories and email applications. However, the scripts, shortcuts and other files that have unprotected extensions are limited. Such setup can be very effective because now, most of the initial attack vectors are not related to EXE or MSI files, but other files are used instead.

The SWH application is a simplified version of the Hard_Configurator. In general, it will apply Hard_Configurator Windows_10_Basic_Recommended_Settings (no Forced SmartScreen). These settings can be modified (a limited way) in SWH, as sometimes on some computers, they must be allowed to be used.

The restrictions made by SWH can be PLAYED/enabled by using two switches on the right side of the green buttons: Software restrictions and Windows Family limitations. In the DISABLED position, the restrictions are remembered and the next time it will be deleted-Windows default settings are applied to previous restricted features. When ENABLED, the recorded settings will be restored. Furthermore, in the POPUP position, users can change the settings that can be configured from the Settings menu.
