It loads audio clip data from the 'Session Information as Text' file of Pro Tools and Pro Tools marker information from the MIDI file. It then creates a single PDF file showing the clips on each track vertically with the markers drawn horizontally, showing locations as timecode or footage. Tags can be stored in Pro Tools clips to customize the look of each clip or set how a group of clips is merged.

EdiChart can also be used to calculate the total duration of clips used in a session when creating music cue sheets or reports as text or MS Excel files.

Import options

During import EdiChart can combine clips of several tracks into a single track, merging overlapping clips. This is used when the audio of several Pro Tools tracks is aggregated into a single mixing console channel, thereby showing in print what is being sent down to the mixer channel as a single track .

All Pro Tools audio tracks, regardless of their width (mono, stereo, LCR, 5.1 …), are imported and printed as a single track.

Custom

EdiChart can highly customize the layout of the dub charts it creates. With unique print scaling controls, the number of pages printed can be minimized while printing all necessary data, including full clip names. The font, color, and style of each clip element can be set, and tags can be stored in the Pro Tools clip name to override the appearance of each clip.

Export Excel and text files

In addition to exporting PDF files, EdiChart can export an Excel or text file containing a list of all clips found in the imported tracks, along with their duration by timecode, footage, and second. This can be used to calculate the total duration of music signals found in a session when creating a music signal table or report.
