Pulsar Massive is an emulation of the Manley Massive Passive* EQ found in most editing studios around the world. This machine is designed as a synthesis of the best passive equalizers of the past 70 years and some distinctive features in the design give it a completely unique sound.

First of all, the EQ's fully parallel topology provides a completely different response pattern than a digital equalizer with the same settings. The parallel equalizer's tonal corrections are not cumulative but tend to interact with each other, resulting in a more fluid and intuitive way of shaping the frequency spectrum.

Also, the whole equalizer circuit of the original hardware is passive and therefore has several inductors. These chokes, specially machined and wound by the manufacturer, are responsible for producing a smooth, non-linear and organic sound due to the magnetic saturation they produce.

Finally, the internal input, output, and amplification stages are completely tube and transformer-operated, providing another step of organic and warm colors.

Our software meticulously recreates all these important aspects of the original hardware, but also provides an interface inspired by its ergonomics, rated by users high.
