WDAC Lockdown 1.34
WDAC is a security feature in Windows that can filter which applications are allowed to run code on the local system. Only software authorized by the user can execute code while the WDAC service is running, making it a whitelist-based filter for the operating system. Aimed at streamlining WDAC management and enhancing its default functionality, WDAC Lockdown provides users with the means to create custom policies and whitelist configurations, while also providing additional security features.
The purpose of WDAC Lockdown is to help you create a WDAC policy that fits your user profile and requirements. When launched, WDAC Lockdown is disabled by default and should be run in training mode for a limited period of time, then enabled. This mode allows the application to learn your habits and remember new events that you allow, thus helping to build the most personalized WDAC policy that suits you and your system.
In other words, once you train WDAC Lockdown, it can automate WDAC to allow all new events from the training phase. You can whitelist all events that have occurred in the past days and even use the built-in policy wizard to create new policies, both basic and additional.
If you need to start over, you can reset all WDAC user policies to default with just one click.
Get anti-malware entries in the context menu and other security-related functions
WDAC Lockdown comes with a number of features that aim to enhance the functionality of WDAC. The kernel lock feature automatically blocks a list of potentially dangerous file types, including scripts.
For your convenience, WDAC Lockdown can add anti-malware and anti-exploit entries to the Windows context menu to quickly scan a file and create exclusions. Additionally, you can configure WDAC Lockdown to analyze non-whitelisted files before automatically allowing them to be executed. WDAC Lockdown also features an automatic computer lock when the computer is most vulnerable to risks and threats, i.e. when the user is browsing the web or checking their email.
Automation and customization tools for WDAC
WDAC Lockdown changes the way you interact with Windows Defender Application Control, this Windows security feature. Not only does it allow you to create custom policies, but it also implements a number of additional features to improve the security of your system.
