Live11 is a new lightweight Windows 11 live disc from NTDEV, the developers behind Tiny11. This is a stripped down version of Windows 11, so it will use less resources than the actual installation. Also, it cannot permanently save settings or application settings because it doesn't actually write to disk.

Features of Live11

  • It only boots on old MBR/BIOS devices. This will be fixed in a later release.
  • The virtual box virtual machine is not working because it restarts after the "install device" phase. And because this is a discontinuous image, all progress is lost and thus it is in the boot loop. However, VMware and Hyper-V still work.
  • It requires 8GB of RAM. Although the image uses only 4GB of RAM, it needs twice that space to load.
  • Anyway, I think the ability to run Windows 11 fully from a DVD is a nice novelty.
