SoundVolumeView is a simple tool for Windows Vista / 7/8/2008/10, displays general information and current volume levels for all components sound activity on your system and allows you to mute and unmute them instantly. SoundVolumeView also allows you to save audio configuration to a file, containing the current volume level status and mute / unmute of all audio components, as well as the audio devices to default, then upload the same file to restore exactly the same file volume levels and settings. There is also support command line extension that allows you to save / load profiles, change current volume of every audio component and mute / unmute every audio component without displaying any user interface whatsoever.

SoundVolumeView - Display volume

After running SoundVolumeView, the main window will display all the audio found in your system. There are 3 types of items: equipment, sub-units and volume of application. For each item, the current volume level is displayed in units of percent. For equipment and sub-units, the volume level is also displayed in Decibels. With respect to the sub-unit, the volume level is displayed for each channel separately.

To translate SoundVolumeView to other language, follow the instructions below:

  1. Run SoundVolumeView with parameter / savelangfile:
  2. SoundVolumeView.exe / savelangfile
  3. A file with the name SoundVolumeView_lng.ini will be created in the folder of the utility SoundVolumeView.
  4. Open the language file created in Notepad or in any text editor any other.
  5. Translate all the strings to the desired language. Optionally, you can also add your name and / or a link to your website. (Value TranslatorName and TranslatorURL) If you add this information it'll be used in windows 'introduction'.
  6. After you finish the translation, run SoundVolumeView and all translated strings will be loaded from the language file.
  7. If you want to run SoundVolumeView without the translation, simply rename the language file or move it to another folder.

SoundVolumeView allows you to save all the sound settings of your current into a name of the file to configure the sound, then download it later when you want to restore these settings.

This utility is released as free software. You are allowed to freely distribute this utility via floppy disk, CD-ROM, the Internet or by any other way, as long as you do not charge anything for this and you don't sell or distribute it as a part of commercial products. If you distribute this utility you must include all files in the distribution package without modifying anything!
